Recent research has found that preventative care performed by a dentist on children under two years old may contribute to tooth decay and other problems when they grow older. Indeed, it seems that their teeth are more prone to cavities and similar problems.
It is not yet known if there is any type of exact correlation and yet, evidence suggests that this type of care before the age of two years may hinder the development of a healthy smile in the future.
– Incidences of tooth decay were nearly double when compared to children who received no little preventative care early in life.
– This study did not take into account extraneous factors such as fluorinated water.
– The researchers observed that other studies would need to be undertaken.
